Apsara’s of Asia
Meaning 'water nymph' or 'celestial spirit', the Apsara is deeply rooted in ancient Indian mythology. Legend has it that these beautiful, divine beings would descend from the heavens to entertain gods and kings with their captivating dance and charm. Unfortunately many times they met brutal circumstances that let to their early demise. This series of fine-art images tell some of the stories of the Apsara’s of 13th century Cambodia.
